Surf Lessons

Are you spending a few days holidaying in beautiful Westport?  Why not try your hand at surfing with West Coast Adventure Tours and Surf School?  Surfing is a great sport to be enjoyed by people of all ages and fitness levels.
It is a great way to pick up a new sport or even just an excuse to get into the great outdoors.  And where better to enjoy the outdoors than in the breathtaking scenery of Westport and surrounds.

We run West Coast Adventure Tours and Surf School from Cross Beach in Louisburgh (which is about 30 minutes drive from Westport).  We have a minibus bringing people to and from Westport every morning and afternoon in July and August and weekends from March to September.

Summary

• Lessons run every morning and afternoon during July and August.
• We provide lessons for all ages. Children under 12 to be supervised by parents.
• All beginner lessons held in waist deep water.
• However, all participant should be able to swim or at least comfortable in the water.
• Maximum of 8 students per I.S.A.  Beach Lifeguard Qualified Instructor.
• Male and female changing facilities, hot showers and toilets available.
• Minibus departs Westport at 9am and 2pm daily at Westport Leisure Centre (if you are staying at a local hotel, call us to arrange pick-up).
• There are a maximum of 14 places per day, so please book early.
• Pre-booking is essential.

What to bring

•  We provide the equipment – wetsuits, surfboards and surf booties.
• Please bring a towel, a swimsuit, warm clothes, and a bottle of water  
• We provide tea and coffee and a snack after the surf lesson.

How much does it cost?

Lessons cost €35 per person for a surf session. This includes pick-up and drop-offs.

We offer very competitive family rates – for a family of 3 or more we offer a rate of €30 per person.  This cost includes transport, hot showers and refreshments after your surf lesson as well as all tuition and equipment.
